We were delighted to lend a helping hand at Stepney Bank Stables in Newcastle upon Tyne, where our team recently volunteered to paint rooms at the charity. Alison Walton, head of procurement, Josh Campbell, solicitor in corporate, Katharine Ronn, solicitor in commercial, and David Wozniak, associate in commercial, swapped their usual desks for paintbrushes to help freshen up the space.

The work needed to be completed quickly and within tight timescales, so it was great to come together as a team and make a practical difference. Stepney Bank Stables is an inner-city riding school and youth project that helps young people build confidence, develop new skills and reach their potential through working with horses.

Our local communities

Alison, who is a trustee at Stepney Bank Stables, said: “We were absolutely delighted to help with this project. It was great to roll up our sleeves, work together and see the difference we could make in a short space of time. Volunteering is a fantastic way to support the organisations doing such important work in our local communities.”

As a B Corp-accredited law firm, we believe that business should be a force for good. We give everyone at Muckle two paid days a year to volunteer with local charities and community organisations, recognising the value of giving our time as well as our expertise. We also donate £1 to the North East Community Forest for every hour our people volunteer, helping to support a greener, healthier region. For us, volunteering is about building stronger connections with our communities and making a positive difference together.
