We're celebrating the final year of our ambitious five-year business plan by reporting a nine per cent rise in turnover to £20.6m for the 12 months ending March 31, 2026.

The financial results mark a fifth consecutive year of increased turnover and net profit, with the firm delivering average top-line growth of just under nine per cent a year across the last five years and  an increase in profits over that period.

Managing partner Anthony Evans said: “It's great to be able to report another successful year.  It is a real testament to our great people, clients and business partners; their continued support has delivered a fifth consecutive year of increased revenue and profit.

“We are now embarking on a new five-year strategy which builds on our successes.

“Our focus is on achieving significant and sustainable growth across our Newcastle, Cumbria and Teesside offices, while continuing to broaden the legal services we offer. That will be combined with continuing to recruit, engage, develop and retain the best people; and making sure we give them an environment where those people can thrive.  We will naturally change as we grow, but that will be an evolution for us; our vision, what we believe in, and our commitment to being a force for good for our people and communities won’t change.

“With a clear vision of what we want to achieve, great clients, a growing team and award-winning talent, we are confident of our future success.”

Solid growth

Our latest financial accounts show that growth was broad-based across its teams, with our commercial, construction and banking teams all reporting solid growth.

The agriculture, rural estates and private client teams also grew significantly, continuing to expand in Cumbria and Teesside.

Our contentious offering also expanded, with our commercial debt recovery team more than doubling in size from FY2026 and the addition of a contentious construction partner.

We have accelerated growth plans in identified high-potential areas, including several significant appointments in Teesside across our private client, corporate and real estate teams, culminating in the opening of a permanent base in Stockton in May 2026.

Our commitment to job creation and training remains strong

Over the last five years, we've added the equivalent of 44 additional people and eight equity partners, including three appointed in  April 2026, strengthening the firm’s future leadership.

We recorded ten promotions this year, including three to partner across its sports, education and charities and real estate teams, with six promotions to associate.  Across the last five years, 38 solicitors have qualified with the firm.

And our corporate and real estate teams both enjoyed standout years, with financial results reflecting the widespread external recognition they received for their legal expertise.

The report also acknowledges how we continue to champion our local communities and embed our purpose-led, responsible business strategy. For over 20 years, we've donated one per cent of our annual profit to a charitable fund managed by the Community Foundation North East.

This year, we distributed £61,435 in grants to 27 charities across the region.

These donations included £5,000 for Project John, a Cumbrian youth homelessness charity, £5,000 for Clean Slate Solutions, a Teesside charity helping people with past convictions find employment, and £5,000 to the Country Trust, which we support across the wider region.

We also delivered 562 pro bono hours, a 14 per cent year-on-year increase, with six of our lawyers named on the 2026 Pro Bono Recognition List. Our people delivered a record 2,113 volunteering hours inside and outside work, a 51 per cent increase.
