Ailsa Charlton

Solicitor

Ailsa trained and qualified in the North East before joining Muckle as a dispute resolution solicitor. Ailsa, who graduated from Durham University with a degree in sociology, spent four years on a graduate scheme with national pharmacy Boots UK before deciding on a career in law.

It was, Ailsa says, our fresh approach to client relationships and the supportive team environment that drew her to Muckle after she qualified as a solicitor in February 2020.

Ailsa’s wide range of skills and commercial experience enable her to provide practical and straight forward advice on a wide range of disputes for clients. She advises on a whole range of legal issues, including contentious procurement, agency regulations, construction disputes and disagreements over contract terms and conditions.

Ailsa also provides advice on contentious probate matters and general commercial disputes. She says the work is both challenging and interesting and she enjoys the analytical nature of contentious work and the variety that the dispute resolution team deal with every day.

Outside of work, Ailsa can often be found walking her black Labrador – Guinness – on the Northumbrian coastline come rain or shine.
