About Matthew
Matthew has expertise in all manner of contract disputes at a range of value levels. His advice has been described by clients as “extremely useful and beneficial.”
With experience in breach of contract claims, restrictive covenant claims, intellectual property and shareholder disputes, Matthew is well placed to advise small enterprises, registered providers, large corporates and local authorities from lower level to the High Court.
Matthew’s in-house experience extends to legislation and contracts across social care, solar power, new build projects, social care build developments, IT contracts, NHS tenders and emergency awards.
Matthew also has practical experience of challenging contract awards.
Regularly liaising with the firm’s Sport, Education and Charity teams, Matthew advises sports organisations on dispute matters. His advice centres around sensitive and commercially sound navigation of disputes for charitable and community organisations.
Matthew is also experienced in enforcing foreign judgments from the Court of Arbitration for Sport and advising clients recouping damages.
Matthew has extensive experience in acting for and advising SMEs in relation to debt recovery action. With a proactive and commercial approach, Matthew centres his advice around a sensible approach to debt recovery, and is part of our Muckle Collect invoice recovery team.
Matthew has advised clients including contractors and house builders in relation to pay less notices, adjudication notices and construction disputes; and has working knowledge of the construction act and relevant parties' obligations. Matthew is also familiar with both JCT and NEC contracts, having advised on both standard contracts.
