Muckle LLP recently invited guests to hear England Rugby Head Coach, Stuart Lancaster, explain his “Lessons in Leadership.”
Stuart spoke about how he applied those lessons to turn around an under-performing team into a team of world class status. Stuart’s enthralling presentation was then followed by a lively Q&A session.
Comments from guests who attended the dinner and presentation stated:
“I thoroughly enjoyed his presentation on how he has put together a team that is well positioned to achieve success. The approach is no different to setting up a business and building and developing a high performing team.”
“I could have listened to Stuart all night. Whilst I could never class myself as an athlete I generally relate things at work to sports related points so I found the correlation between what he does in the world of Rugby and what we do at work very striking.”
“I thought it was a great balance of interesting insights and anecdotes combined with powerful messages around leadership, teamwork and general management skills.”
“A key learning point to me was taking time to listen and to ensure that everyone knows where we’re going and why.”
“Stuart’s honest and grounded approach was ever-present as he demonstrated clearly the importance of a shared vision, values and belief in the objectives set for both himself and the team, together with the importance of gathering around the right people to deal with the challenges faced on the journey to success. The learning from this event is wholly transferable into any organisation.”
