Muckle’s harvest quiz raises £1,301 for The Country Trust

Muckle LLP’s third annual Harvest Quiz brought together farmers and land agents for an evening of friendly competition, great food and fundraising in support of The Country Trust.

Held on 24 September at Morpeth Rugby Club, the event saw 10 teams of six put their knowledge to the test, with a delicious pie and peas supper provided by North East Pig On A Spit Hog Roast Company.

Organised in partnership with The Country Trust, the quiz raised £1,301 to support the charity’s vital work connecting children with the land. The evening also offered an opportunity to raise awareness of the charity’s work, with David Jackson sharing insights that may inspire more farmers to become host farms and help children discover where their food comes from.

The coveted solid-glass trophy went to the winning team from Handelsbanken.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, donated raffle prizes and helped make the evening a success. Every contribution counted towards supporting The Country Trust and its important mission.

The Harvest Quiz will return around the same time next year, and Muckle is already welcoming donations of raffle prizes and auction gifts, as well as interest from farmers keen to learn more about becoming involved with The Country Trust.
