Frequently Asked Questions
When can I apply for work experience?
We run the scheme twice a year in our Newcastle office – in February and August. Applications for the August session are open between 1-30 June. Applications for the February session open in November. Please note, we are unable to accept work experience applications outside these times.
Do you accept ad hoc work experience applications?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept work experience applications outside our dedicated weeks.
Do you have any specific requirements?
Due to safeguarding reasons, we can only accept applications from those aged 16 and over, However, we have no entry grade or subject requirements – all we ask is that you have a genuine interest in law and are keen to gain experience at Muckle LLP.
Do I have to be studying law?
No, the scheme is aimed at helping you gain experience regardless of your background, therefore we have no entry grade or subject requirements and don’t have a preference between law and non-law students.
Do you accept CV applications?
No. Please use the online application form, as all application answers are reviewed anonymously during the selection process. You can sign up below to be reminded when applications open.
If I’ve applied previously, can I try again?
Yes, of course. We’ve had students in the past who applied more than once to get their place. But we’d like you to start each application from scratch – don’t cut and paste!
Do you pay travel expenses for work experience?
No, we do not reimburse expenses for travel or accommodation.
