Our commercial team has welcomed a newly qualified lawyer.

Following the completion of her two-year training contract at the firm, Katharine Ronn has qualified into the commercial team. Katharine’s role will involve reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, advising on terms and conditions, and supporting a variety of other commercial matters.

During her training contract, Katharine gained additional experience in the dispute resolution, corporate and real estate teams.

Prior to Muckle, Katharine completed a Geography degree at Loughborough University before studying a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Northumbria University.

Katharine spent some time living in Australia, London and the Cotswolds before returning to the North East to pursue a career in law.

Alignment of values

Katharine said: “When researching training contracts, I was drawn to Muckle’s values and its supportive, people-focused culture; I really wanted to work here. In fact, Muckle was the only training contract I applied for, but this was a risk that has really paid off.

“Commercial law was the natural choice for me – it is challenging, dynamic, and intellectually stimulating.

“I also love the variety that comes with working in commercial law, especially getting to meet clients from all different types of businesses. It’s rewarding to be part of helping them solve complex issues and make informed decisions that impact their success.”

Alex Craig, partner and head of the commercial team, said: “We're delighted to welcome Katharine into the commercial team. Throughout her training, she’s shown an impressive ability to adapt across different areas of the firm. Katharine brings fresh energy and perspective, and I have no doubt she’ll be a valuable asset to our clients.

"Commercial law requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of business dynamics, and Katharine has demonstrated that she excels in both. We're looking forward to seeing her grow and continue delivering the high-quality service our clients expect.”
