Real Estate Solicitor

The role

We'd be very interested in talking to individuals who have 2-6 years PQE, to work in our award-winning real estate team.  Candidates should ideally have experience in some or all of the following areas:

• Development work, both commercial and residential;
• Landlord and tenant; and
• Property finance.

So who are we looking for?  We want someone who has an interest in this area of law based on experience of dealing with a range of property matters including development, acquisitions and disposals of both freehold and leasehold interests, commercial landlord and tenant matters, assisting on the property aspects of corporate sales and acquisitions and property finance, a proactive, self-starter, with a strong technical ability, a committed and strong work ethic, exceptional client service, a problem solver and a strong and capable team player.  We've also set our sights on an individual with excellent people, communication and client management skills, an interest in business development and good commercial awareness. 

This role can be based either in the North East at our head office is in central Newcastle upon Tyne – a city we have operated from for over 100 years. Or, in the North West at our regional hub in Penrith in Cumbria.

You can also take advantage of our agile working policy which allows our people to work 2 or 3 days per week from anywhere, depending upon business needs, providing excellent services to various organisations throughout the UK and beyond.

Our large real estate team can cope with any commercial property issue. The team are ranked top tier in Legal 500 UK and were recently described as a ‘regional heavyweight’ by top legal directory Chambers and Partners. The real estate team is a key part of the wider Muckle LLP team, which is over 170 people strong.

As winners of Property Law Firm of the Year at the Insider North East Property Awards 2023, the team have demonstrated their expertise in the full range of property and construction issues including acquisitions, disposals, redevelopments, investment, property management, property finance, mines and minerals, planning and renewable energy.
