Awards and recognition
We don’t do it for the awards, but it’s always nice to be recognised for the work we do. Here are some of our most recent awards.
Stephanie Brown was named Young Lawyer of the Year by an independent panel of judges, who recognised her skills as a corporate lawyer, and her leadership of the Muckle graduate recruitment team. The category was dominated by Muckle lawyers, who made up 5 of the 6 shortlisted nominations.
We’re delighted to have been part of two of the winning deals recognised at Insider Media’s Dealmaker Awards 2022.
A big congratulations to our clients, The Lakes Distillery and Aspire Technology, who took home Deal of the Year (sub £10m) and PE/VC Deal of the Year.
The award recognises companies that create a culture and implement initiatives that allow women opportunities to reach their full potential as well as a strong representation of women in senior leadership roles.
We were named the top dealmaker in the region for the first half of 2022 in rankings published by independent analysts Experian MarketIQ. As a firm we topped Experian’s latest Top 20 deal advisor league table for the first six months of 2022 after completing 33 qualifying deals worth a total of £280m. We were also ranked 11th in the national rankings with 38 qualifying deals.
The ‘Heart of the Community’ award celebrates excellence in corporate, social and ethical activity. This is the 5th time we’ve been awarded the Northumberland & Tyneside Heat.
Presented by the local homeless charity, Oasis Community Housing, at their Black and Gold Ball fundraiser, the award is in recognition of the support we’ve given the charity over the past 12 months and celebrates the success of our corporate partnership.
Our real estate team has once again been shortlisted for Property Law Firm of the Year at the Insider North East Property Awards.
The Better Health at Work Award recognises the efforts of employers in the North East and Cumbria in addressing health issues within the workplace.
We hold ‘Continuing Excellence’ status which recognises the sustained progress we have made during our participation in the award scheme and how we use our experience to support others.

Matthew Walsh and Sarah Forster were shortlisted in the Lawyer of the Year category with Sarah going on to win the award.
