This award focuses on individuals within the Chamber's member organisations who deserve recognition, be it for their contribution to their organisation, the region or to other colleagues.

The judges commended us for our consistency in benefiting women in the workplace; we received this accolade for the second year in a row. Our mentoring, benefits package and working parents group were named as stand-out initiatives.

The Legal 500 Northern Powerhouse Awards will recognise the lawyers, law firms and in-house legal departments setting the pace in the region, providing a platform to celebrate their achievements over the last 18 months.

We’re delighted to have received eight nominations at the Legal 500 UK Northern Powerhouse Awards 2024, including 'Firm of the Year' for corporate, real estate and technology, media and telecoms (TMT). As well as 'Managing Partner of the Year' and three nominations for 'Rising Star'.

The Insider Young Professional Awards highlight talented rising stars working in professional positions in businesses across the region.

Hayden Richards, Associate Solicitor in our Corporate team has been shortlisted in the 'Young Lawyer of the Year' category. Ben Evans who recently qualified via the North East Solicitor Apprenticeship (NESA) scheme and was one of the first solicitors in the region to do so is shortlisted in the 'Young Apprentice of the Year' category.

Investment in Additional Lengths by Growth Partner ( PE/VC Deal of the Year), Acquisition of QA Weld Tech by Express Engineering (Deal of the Year sub £10m) and Acquisition of Helston Garages Group by Vertu Motors (Deal of the Year +£10m)

This award is for the regional-based corporate lawyer judged to have been the most successful in advising regional-based businesses during the qualifying period. The judges felt Adam's high level of service, his commercial approach and his specialist reputation in investment transactions, made him the stand-out lawyer this year.

Recognising a business with a focus on developing talent through training, apprenticeships, work experience, diversity and inclusion, career progression and opening opportunities to all. We won the Grand Final after previously winning the Tyneside and Northumberland heat.

The awards are celebration of the very best in people management, wellbeing, apprenticeships and individual success.

The judges are looking for businesses that have made a significant contribution to the development and retention of their female workforce whilst inspiring the next female generation.
