Fortunately for ourselves and our clients, Joanne is able to apply her considerable experience of charity law to mergers and collaborative working, governance, trading and legal structures within the sport sector. As a result, she also has an in-depth understanding of advising on a wide range of charity law and company law issues, and how these are applied to the environment in which sports enterprises operate.
Most recently, she has been advising a football club on the incorporation and registration of a charitable foundation and related trading subsidiary, as well as advising a cricket club on the structure of its charitable operations. All of which is, of course, a natural fit with her involvement in the Charities Team.
As well as playing such a strong role for the firm’s sports clients, you could say that Joanne also plays the odd musical instrument or two. In fact she plays the violin, which is her main instrument, the viola, double bass, bass guitar, piano and kettle drums, which as a school girl she played on stage in the Royal Albert Hall. Guess we know who to turn to if we ever decide to put a Muckle orchestra together.
