It’s fair to say that Chris knows a thing or two about education. Having trained at a leading national charity and education practice, Chris joined Muckle in 2011 to advise our growing number of clients in the schools sector. After a spell elsewhere, including as an in-house lawyer at a university, Chris rejoined Muckle in 2021 as a senior associate.
Chris regularly advises schools, colleges and universities on constitutional, commercial and public law matters, including charity law, academy conversions, governance, contracts and grants, charitable and non-charitable trading, joint ventures, mergers and restructures as well as school admission arrangements and pupil exclusions.
With experience working both for and within the higher education sector, Chris also has expertise advising universities, funders and private companies on collaborative research projects, knowledge transfer partnerships and technology spin-outs. He also advises colleges, universities, professional bodies and training providers on vocational and professional training arrangements and accreditation.
Living and breathing the world of education in his spare time too, Chris currently serves as a school governor. The Legal 500 described him as someone who “cares about getting it right and goes the extra mile.”
