Partner and Head of Commercial team
Having joined the firm as a Trainee back in 1998, Alex qualified in 2000 and was appointed a Partner in 2008. Using her in-depth knowledge of legal issues across a range of technology-related areas, as well as her specific expertise in IP law, she advises and negotiates on all aspects of contracts across a variety of sectors. These include distributions, agencies, licences, collaboration agreements, supply agreements, development agreements, IP transfer agreements and online contracts.
Alex also manages a number of IP portfolios for clients, providing advice on IP strategy and capture, protection, exploitation and assisting on enforcement matters. She has advised on the IP aspects of several commercialisations from leading universities, assisted and advised on audits required under an Information Security Awareness and Compliance Audit scheme, has spoken at the NISC (National Information Security Conference) on information security and most recently spoken at the LUPC Legal Update Seminar on developments in IP.
Alex spent a year as in-house lawyer working for a regional pharmaceutical business during a period of substantial growth.
When she isn’t busy helping Muckle clients, she is looking after her family or engrossed in a book.
