Muckle takes on new insolvency expert

We have strengthened our banking and restructuring team with the appointment of a specialist insolvency solicitor.

Ryan Butler joins the firm, bringing with him a wealth of experience in providing legal advice and taking on hands-on roles in various insolvency matters.

With an extensive background working across a range of commercial law and in-house firms, Ryan also holds a professional qualification in insolvency from the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA), further enhancing his expertise in this sector. 

Now joining our banking and restructuring team, Ryan will be working closely with insolvency expert and partner Kelly Jordan and associate Sarah Farish, advising insolvency practitioners on a wide range of insolvency and restructuring issues.

Kelly is widely recognised as a leading expert in insolvency practice across the North East. She also currently serves as Chair of the R3 North East Regional Committee, a professional association for business recovery and insolvency practitioners. Kelly plays a key role in shaping policy, driving initiatives and fostering networking opportunities for insolvency professionals throughout the region.

Making a meaningful impact

Ryan said: "I always knew I wanted to specialise in insolvency. I love the variety of the work and how no two days are ever the same. It is a fast-paced area, and you are often working against various deadlines and pressures, but that is what makes it so rewarding and allows you to make a meaningful impact.

"My previous in-house role gave me valuable hands-on experience and I’m keen to use this to contribute and support clients of the firm. Muckle has a brilliant reputation, with real experts, and its B Corp initiatives and commitment to giving back to the community are something I wanted to be a part of.
