Lawyers in our banking and real estate teams have acted for HSBC in negotiating an eight-figure funding package with Armstrong Watson to facilitate the latter’s growth.

Armstrong Watson, a leading business advisory and accountancy firm, currently employs over 800 people in 19 locations, including Newcastle, Leeds and its Carlisle headquarters.

Long-term growth

As part of its long-term growth strategy, the firm is aiming to complete at least four additional acquisitions across the North East and Scotland in the coming years to broaden and improve its range of services.

As well as facilitating these future acquisitions, HSBC UK's funding is enabling Armstrong Watson to advance its technological capabilities, with a focus on integrating AI and digital solutions.

Paul Dickson, chief executive and managing partner at Armstrong Watson, said: "We're committed to helping our clients grow with confidence, secure their futures, and enjoy peace of mind through every stage of their journey.

"Our latest acquisition in Glasgow is a fantastic milestone, and with HSBC UK's support we're also embracing the future through digital innovation and further expansion. The team at HSBC UK have taken the time to understand our business and ambitions, providing flexible, practical funding that enables us to deliver on our strategy."

Ben Foster, relationship director at HSBC UK, added: "Armstrong Watson is a forward-thinking firm with deep regional roots and a clear growth vision.

"Our funding will allow them to invest in their people, technology and acquisitions. We're proud to support their continued evolution as they deliver real impact for clients across the North of England and Scotland."

It was a pleasure to work alongside the team to help bring this transaction to a successful close and deliver a strong outcome for all involved."

Ben Foster said: "We are thrilled with the outcome on this refinancing for Armstrong Watson and appreciate the expertise and dedication of the Muckle team advising us. Their pragmatic approach, commitment, and ability to work seamlessly within a demanding timeframe were invaluable."
