Renters' Rights Act: The impact on residential lettings

Want to stay informed about the Renters' Rights Act?

Hear from Sarah Barratt, partner, and Claire Richmond, Chartered Legal Executive, both in our real estate dispute resolution team, about the Act's proposed changes and how they are set to impact residential letting, including the impact on landlords and letting agents.

This face-to-face session at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in Cumbria will run from 09:30 am to 11:30 am.

Why attend?

The Renters' Rights Act is in its final stages, aiming to transform England’s private rented sector.

From abolishing Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions to limiting annual rent increases, there are several important changes that will affect landlords and tenants in different ways.

In anticipation of the Act becoming law, we invite you to join our experts and gain insight into the new legislation and the key responsibilities of landlords and letting agents.

This session will last no longer than 90 minutes and include time for questions.

In this session, we will cover:

  • A background and overview of the Act, and which tenancies it applies to
  • Changes to grounds for possession and notice periods
  • The mechanism for increasing rent
  • Discrimination and rent bidding
  • Property condition
  • Landlord’s Redress Scheme and the Landlord’s database
  • Offences and enforcement

Who should attend?

This training session is aimed towards anyone within the housing sector dealing with residential property, including social housing providers, local authorities and landlords.
