The Procurement Act: how it's working in practice

The UK Procurement Act 2023 is now in effect, having gone live on February 24, 2025. Replacing the previous procurement regulations, its aim was to modernise and simplify the process for public sector procurement – but how is it working in practice?

Alison Walton, head of procurement, will discuss the impact of the legislation, common issues and successes seen in the months following the changes.

Why attend?

We’ll cover a range of trending topics in procurement including:

  • Transparency – a friend or foe?
  • The competitive flexible procedure – is the new flexibility being used to its full potential?
  • Changing existing contracts – which regime do we use?
  • Case law update

Who should attend?

This session is aimed primarily at public sector legal and procurement teams, utility legal and procurement teams and suppliers to the public sector who frequently encounter the intricacies of the procurement regime.
