Darlington engineering firm blasts off

Darlington based engineering services group Mechtool Engineering have recently been successful in supplying fire and blast walls to Statoil’s £1.5bn Dudgeon offshore wind farm of the Norfolk coast. The company are also to work with Statoil on a five year framework deal in support of the Johan Sverdrup oil project based in the Norwegian continental shelf.

Mechtool have successfully developed their fire and blast protection work across the offshore energy sector last year, securing a £37m contract for the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan. The company has also opened an office in South Korea, and helped Hartlepool based Heerema construct a substation platform for the Galloper offshore wind farm.
