The challenge
We acted for a consortium of ten separate landowners in negotiating and agreeing options for leases for a proposed 1,200-acre solar farm in the North East of England.
The solution
A significant project to manage, we agreed template documents before applying them to each landholding. We also dealt with numerous agents and advised all the clients individually on the the documents to ensure all parties agreed to them.
We supported with due diligence and other title enquiries for each landholding and dealt with obtaining lender consents to the option and lease in a number of cases.
We brought our significant experience to this matter to ensure it was dealt with promptly and expertly. We have proposed and negotiated novel clauses to deal with issues that could arise including reinstatement provisions and accommodating Biodiversity Net Gain.
The impact
If approved, the solar farm will be a National Infrastructure Project providing clean, green electricity for tens of thousands of homes.
