Muckle continues to connect small charities to free legal advice
To mark Small Charities Week 2024, we have once again worked with Connected Voice as part of its Sector Connector programme to provide free legal advice to small charities.
Small charity support
As a North East business, we have a genuine desire to impact the local communities where we live and operate.
Last year, we partnered with Connected Voice, a North-East based charity that champions and supports the voluntary sector, to organise and deliver free legal clinics to local charities and VCSEs.
Building on the success of last year’s clinics, we joined forces with Connected Voice again in June this year to deliver free legal advice clinics to a select number of small charities.
Multi-disciplinary support
The clinics saw 21 small to medium-sized charities and not-for-profit organisations meet with lawyers from across our firm to receive advice across a variety of legal specialisms, including governance, property and data protection.
Alison Jones, senior associate at Muckle LLP, said: “It was a pleasure to support so many organisations doing great things in our region as part of Small Charity Week. The advice we provided during our law clinics has hopefully helped these organisations go on to make an even bigger impact in the future.”
Of the advice received, Helen Haran, commercial manager at Stomping Grounds North East, said: “We were extremely pleased to have the opportunity to talk through our current complex circumstances and focus on the legal implications. It was both reassuring and flagged up some vital steps we need to take, we are very grateful.”
Positive community impact
Pro bono is one of the many ways we make a difference to our local community. Read more about our ESG activities here.
