Bike for Bobby Last Leg Wembley to St James' Park

The Bike for Bobby campaign stopped off at Wembley Stadium last week as Robbie Elliott and his team of cyclists completed the last leg of their Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer fund raiser.

Elliott, who played under Sir Bobby at Newcastle United, and his cycling partner, Phil Gray, cycled across Europe visiting every club stadium where the legend managed in his long football career.

Their mammoth 25 day challenge saw them battle monsoon rains, snow and ice and 130kph winds to ride through four countries, eight stadiums and over 3,500 miles.

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation has raised more than £4m for cancer research and treatment in the North East.

John Devine, Partner and Head of the Charities team, helped Robbie to set up the Foundation and has been a part of the support crew on the ride.
