Infrastructure Security Engineer

About this vacancy

The role

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Administrator with a strong focus on security and modern device management. You will play a critical role in managing our Microsoft 365 environment, driving Intune policy deployment across Windows, Android and iOS platforms whilst contributing to the continued evolution of our security posture.

It is essential that candidates have experience in the following areas:

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365 administration (minimum 3 years preferred).
  • In depth understanding of Microsoft Group Policy (GPO)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • PKI infrastructure (certificates, internal/external CA and lifecycle management).
    • Networking principles including:
      • Segmentation and Isolation (VLANs, DMZ)
      • Secure Protocols (HTTPS/SSH)
      • Authentication and Encryption (RADIUS, PKI Infrastructure, VPN/IPSec)
      • NAT and firewall rules.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for:
    • Intune Automation (Detection/Remediation/Platform scripts)
    • Deployment and automation tasks across Windows environments.
  • Comfortable with both Windows and Linux CLI environments.
  • Experience administering endpoint protection and remote monitoring / management (RMM) platforms (e.g. SentinelOne and NinjaOne).
  • Practical understanding of patch management best practices across hybrid infrastructure.

The IT team is a key part of the wider Muckle LLP team, which is over 190 people strong.  

This role is based in the North East at our head office is in central Newcastle upon Tyne – a city we have operated from for over 100 years.  You can also take advantage of our agile working policy, once you are up to speed and optionally work 2 days per week from anywhere, depending upon business need.
