Finance Assistant

  • Type: non-legal

About this vacancy

The role

Our Finance Assistant will work as part of a 6-person team which exists to support the business’s financial transactions. We are looking for someone to help out with the day to day transactional and administrative finance tasks of a busy law firm, such as posting cash receipts and payments, handling petty cash, processing expense payments and taking client calls on billing matters.

So, who are we looking for? An individual who is comfortable working with numbers and IT systems who has a good attention to detail and who enjoys learning new things. We are looking for strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to perform effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (grade A-C or 9-5), including Maths and English. A working knowledge of Excel would be an advantage.

Depending on candidate interests and aptitude, the role has the opportunity, over time, to develop into a broader one involving a range of accounting and financial management with opportunities to grow and develop skills in data analytics, process simplification and RPA implementation.

This is a part-time position of 16 to 20 hours per week, with exact hours to be agreed. We offer flexibility in the working pattern but would like the successful candidate to be in the office for at least two afternoons per week after an initial 6-month period of training and on-boarding in the office. The remaining hours can be worked at other times during the week as agreed with the Finance Manager.
