Muckle LLP Expands Team with New Appointments

We would like to announce the appointment of six new lawyers to enhance our client support.

Jim Pearson, joins as assistant solicitor in the commercial team and Steven Greenwood, as assistant solicitor in corporate finance team. Both are returning to the North East after completing their training contract’s with national firm, Pinsent Masons.

Commercial Team welcomes Jim Pearson

Hailing originally from Durham, Jim, has worked with a number of household-name brands in the past, dealing with both contentious and non-contentious Intellectual Property matters including a test case in product labelling. At Muckle LLP he will mainly be responsible for advising clients on various intellectual property rights and providing support for organisations that are progressing through start-up phases in the technology sector.

Jim said: "I am delighted to join Muckle LLP and I immediately felt the importance of the firm’s strong focus on client service and the ways in which lawyers place the business needs of clients at its heart it's great to be part of that approach.  I always wanted to come back to the North East and Muckle was the firm I wanted to work for so it feels good to have achieved both these goals in one fell-swoop."

Corporate Finance Team welcomes Steven Greenwood

Having worked on several large scale acquisitions and disposals in both the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors, Steven Greenwood has also assisted many high-profile clients. The Durham-born Northumbria University graduate will be supporting the corporate finance team, on business sales and acquisitions, as well as early stage finance projects and general commercial advice.

Steven said: "I knew of the corporate finance team’s exceptional reputation as a result of their continued success at the prestigious Insider Dealmaker Awards, so I was extremely keen to join the firm. To be able to learn from some of the leading professionals in the region’s legal industry offers a fantastic career opportunity and I'm very much looking forward to contributing to the firm's success."

New Trainee Appointments

Muckle LLP also welcomes the appointment of four trainee solicitors: Gary Crawford, from South Shields, Worksop-born Nicola Barnett, Natalie Starkie, originally from Greece and Stacey Morland from Jarrow.

Gary Crawford graduated from Northumbria University and is looking forward to the challenge of his first legal role. He will join the employment group.

Nicola Barnett joins Muckle from the legal team at One NorthEast and was so convinced that the company was the right choice for her that she didn't apply to any other legal firm for her traineeship.

Natalie Starkie already has some legal experience under her belt after working for a law firm in Harrogate between 2008 and 2009. She will now start her training contract by assisting the property group at Muckle.

Stacey Morland will assist the banking team in her first legal role since graduating from Durham University.
