About this vacancy

The role

We'd be very interested in talking to individuals who have 2-6 years relevant post qualification experience, to work in our award-winning corporate team.

All candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • working with SMEs, owner managed businesses and large corporates
  • mergers and acquisitions
  • shareholder arrangements, reorganisations and company advice
  • listed company transactions and IPOs
  • PE/venture capital transactions

The right person will be welcomed into our team, that deals daily with a broad range of corporate finance transactions; from working with early stage businesses and start up arrangements through to major fundraisings, IPO and some of the region’s most significant mergers and acquisitions.

So who are we looking for?  We want someone who has an interest in this area of law based on experience of dealing with corporate finance transactions, a self-starter, an understanding of client’s commercial requirements, strong technical ability, an aptitude in delivering client service and most of all, a team player.

We are dedicated to developing our team’s skills and allowing them to become the best lawyers – who have excellent people, communication and client management skills.

This role can be based either in the North East at our head office is in central Newcastle upon Tyne – a city we have operated from for over 100 years. Or, in the North West at our regional hub in Penrith in Cumbria.

You can also take advantage of our agile working policy which allows our people to work 2 or 3 days per week from anywhere, depending upon business needs, providing excellent services to various organisations throughout the UK and beyond.

Our team

We think our Corporate team is a special place to work.

You’d be part of a team that is ranked number 1 in the region by both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 UK legal directories. Experian Market IQ consistently rank us as one of the most active dealmakers in the region and we have also been named Corporate Law Firm of the Year by North East Insider Dealmakers Awards more times than any other law firm, so you’d be working with award winning lawyers who are recognised as leaders in their field. The Corporate team is a key part of the wider Muckle LLP team, which is around 170 people strong.

Our business is full of bright, enthusiastic, articulate, colourful, confident people. People who live and breathe our core values:

From workplace running, cycling and walking clubs to fun events organised by our BEAM (Being Engaged At Muckle) team and participation in our Green Team to help make the business as environmentally friendly as possible, we’ve created a unique and award winning place to work:

  • North East Better Health at Work Maintaining Excellence award
