With many years’ of experience advising on all aspects of charity law and governance, Samantha is an expert on the regulations and challenges faced by charities, not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises and educational establishments.

Samantha advises on a range of legal issues relating to strategic change, governance, operational matters, trust law, and regulatory compliance.  This includes mergers, collaborations and joint ventures, new formations, incorporations, group structures, governance and constitutional reviews, delegation of authority, trustees’ duties, trading, fundraising, contracts, charity property, charity investments, permanent endowment, Charity Commission compliance and the impact of charity law in other areas.

Her clients include large national and regional charities, membership organisations, community organisations, social enterprises, education providers and other service providers.  

Samantha also supports individual philanthropists as well as public bodies and commercial businesses and institutions when they interact with the sector.

She has acted as a trustee of a number of charities and undertaken a secondment within a national charity; and is a member of the Charity Law Association, regularly providing training to trustees and senior management.
