An introduction to the data protection legislation in the UK including the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation.
This course will cover:
- the key terminology used in legislation;
- the principles;
- obligations of data controllers and data processors;
- individuals’ rights; and
- penalties for non-compliance.
This is an interactive course where delegates will apply the principles learnt to case studies and will have ample opportunity to ask questions.
This is a perfect course for in-house lawyers, compliance officers, data protection officers, IT managers/directors or other persons responsible for data protection within their organisations.
Successful learners will be awarded a certificate of achievement by NCFE. This is not a nationally recognised qualification but has been benchmarked at Level 3 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to reflect the basis and the depth of study, difficulty and level of achievement involved.
