The last 12 months have continued to see substantial changes to employment law and practice: an ongoing general reduction in tribunal claims tempered by complex new legislation (such as the shared parental leave provisions) and uncertainty in relation to the calculation of holiday pay to name but a few.
With a majority Conservative government now elected, further changes are likely – indeed the greatest challenge for the private sector may come as a result of mandatory gender pay gap reporting (for employers with 250 or more employees, initially at least) which is already a commitment from March 2016.
