We are delighted to be sponsoring Cumbria Chamber Directors Club. We are hosting a special event to launch the club on 1st July 2021.
It’s an opportunity to take some precious time out from working in your business, to work on your business and best practice with likeminded individuals.
As business leaders, we’ve all faced issues and challenges during the last 18 months. However, now’s the time to start moving forward and see where the opportunities lie.
Legal experts from our team will discuss some of the challenges facing us all. Hot topics for discussion include:
- Digital transformation – Luke Donockley, Solicitor, Commercial
Luke will consider challenges faced by businesses involved in a digital transformation, including the need to reconsider terms and conditions to make them fit for purpose and the difficulties posed for businesses in ensuring that innovative products and services are protected by bespoke commercial contracts.
- Health, wellbeing and the impact on recruitment – Tony McPhillips, Partner, Employment
Tony will consider changes we may expect to see in how people work in the future and how business may have to adapt to retain and recruit personnel. He will focus on demands for more agile and flexible working, increased awareness of mental health and well-being of staff and challenges that may arise from a labour shortage as the UK seeks to bounce back.
- Real Estate in a post-Covid world – Richard Nixon, Associate, Real Estate
Richard will cover common property pitfalls, where the risks are, what you can do (and what you can’t), the property market, who is booming, who is bust.
- Corporate considerations – Sara Worsick, Solicitor, Corporate
Sara will focus on future proofing your corporate governance, by looking at share transfer provisions on death, allowing virtual board and shareholder meetings and addressing sustainability and ethical policies using B-Corp status. Sarah will also consider reorganising your group structure to de-risk and protect assets and incentivising and rewarding your employees by offering share options or establishing an EOT.
Gain practical advice around the legal implications and solutions for your business to work smarter post-pandemic.
