Free Seminar: Protecting Your Business during Contract Negotiations

1st Jan 2013 | Energy

Description:

Muckle LLP has organised this seminar for NOF Energy members and other businesses involved in the energy supply chain.  It’s purpose is to help you reduce risks in meeting the contractual demands of customers, who may often appear larger and more powerful during negotiations.

This seminar, will assist members of the Energy supply chain in addressing important clauses within contractual arrangements. It will also provide indicators as to how best to manage and minimise risk, including identifying ways you can limit potentially onerous commercial liabilities imposed upon you.

The seminar will be chaired by Andrew Davison, Head of our Energy Team and presented by Rob Langley, Head of our Construction and Engineering Team.

The following contractual areas will be focused upon:

  • Key contractual issues;
  • How to limit your liabilities and indemnities;
  • The use of a retention of title clause to retain legal ownership of the goods supplied;
  • Copyright and Intellectual Property protection and ownership;
  • Delay risks and damages;
  • Payment terms; and
  • Methods to resolve disputes.
