This is it – the day that no doubt gives all those hopeful graduates a sleepless night. You are, however, fretting unnecessarily as our Assessment Day actually consists of various group exercises and does not involve any psychometric or similar tests.
As the penultimate stage of our recruitment process the Assessment Day is in fact an opportunity for candidates to demonstrate their interpersonal and communication skills, and for us to check out how they work and communicate under pressure in a team environment. This usually involves between 15 and 20 applicants who have either been on our vacation placement scheme or have applied directly for a training contract (and have, of course, progressed following their interview). There is no specific preparation required for the day – all we ask is that participants turn up with a smile, an open mind and be ready for a challenge!
The day itself only really lasts for a few hours and starts after lunch with the Trainees and Graduate Recruitment Team.
