"Our family arrived in the UK in 2003 and our son Ben was 12 at the time. We settled in Cumbria and Ben soon showed talent as a cricketer making regional representative sides from 2004. He then moved up into England age group sides and in 2008 was selected for England U18 and U19. It was at this stage that the fact that he held a New Zealand passport only, became a problem for his long term future in the game in England as the rules dictated that he must be a British Citizen to be able to play for England U19’s onwards. We had not been in England long enough to apply for citizenship and the process would have taken too long for it to have benefited Ben’s career so we needed to find a solution to the problem and it is at this stage Muckle’s became involved. They guided us through the process of applying for discretionary citizenship for Ben and this was successful.
