I am a company lawyer, strategic adviser and Head of the firm's Energy Group. I specialise in working closely with companies and their directors/owners to plan, review and execute strategic objectives. Chambers & Partners 2012 quote a client reference saying that I am "highly responsive and committed to building long-term trusting relationships." In 2007, I was voted the first ever 'Insider' magazine North East Corporate Lawyer of the Year. My main areas of expertise include joint ventures, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions and advice on directors’ duties. However, my particular strengths lie in providing commercial and strategic advice.

With over 25 years’ experience as a corporate adviser, I am a member of the London Stock Exchange Regional Advisory Group and Company Secretary at Port of Tyne and at Immunodiagnostic Systems Group PLC. I was formerly company secretary of Greggs plc, Chairman of the Law Society’s Company Law Committee and a member of the DTI Company Law Review Consultative Committee (which led to the Companies Act 2006).
