Kevin Maloney

Our graduate recruitment team includes people from right across the business. All of us joined the firm at different times in our careers and have our own reasons for being at Muckle LLP. The most important thing that the team have in common is that we all understand what we are looking for in a Muckle trainee.

The graduate recruitment team is led by Kevin Maloney, an associate solicitor in the Banking Team.

I qualified at Robert Muckle (as it was known then) in 2000 into the Corporate Team. Since then, I have migrated to the Banking Team where I'm now an associate solicitor. In the last two years, I've led our graduate recruitment team.

There is a very strong ethos and culture at Muckle LLP. It's vital that we choose the right trainees who will fit into and flourish at the firm. This is reflected in the time the graduate recruitment team and the firm invest in the recruitment process. The process is always ongoing! It starts with the law fairs and presentations in the autumn, vacation placement and interviews in the New Year, then the summer vacation scheme, graduate assessment day and final interviews over the summer.

I thoroughly enjoy graduate recruitment – it's great to work with different colleagues in a different environment outside the "day job." It's fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic and motivated people who want to join the firm. This means, however, that the team has a very difficult task in choosing our trainees!

I understand that choosing a law firm and getting a training contract is a very challenging process. We try, though, to make this process as informal and as enjoyable as we can for you.
